Seminar to focus on making properties lead safe,
energy efficient
WARWICK – Mayor Scott Avedisian announced today that the City’s Lead Hazard Reduction Program will be among several agencies partnering with the Kent Washington Association of Realtors to offer a free seminar on how to make properties lead safe and energy efficient.
The seminar will be held on June 30 at the Buttonwoods Community Center, 3027 West Shore Road, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. advance registration is preferred, but walk-ins are welcome. Tenants, landlords, homeowners, Realtors, future homebuyers are all welcome. Guidelines, grant application information, lead safe course sign ups and lead test appointments will be available.
Speakers will offer information about using grants and low-interest loans to help mitigate lead paint hazards and a variety of ways to help save money on heating and other energy costs.
Other participants are: Rhode Island Housing LeadSafe Program, Westbay CAP Lead Hazard Education and Outreach Program, RISE (Rhode Islanders Saving Energy) and the Rhode Island Housing Resources Commission.
